Assen van Assen

In the pedestrian and bicycle passage beneath the central station of Assen you will find the artwork “Assen van Assen”. The 34 meters long interactive light installation is designed by artist Matthias Oostrik. When people enter the passage a wave of light is triggered. The waves find their way from one side of the tunnel to the other side of the tunnel. The design of the artwork is inspired by the city plan of Assen. The wave of light expresses the exchange of energy between the two sides of the city.

A total of 3577 RGB LED addressable modules were used. These are divided over 36 wooden plates. The whole is powered by 36 Meanwell PSUs and controlled by the DigiDot C4 Live.
